Overview

An EF 16-35mm f/2.8L III USM from Canon is a wide-angle zoom lens with a rebuilt optical design and member of the L-series of lenses from Canon. With a host of specialized elements in its build, this lens makes use of a trio of aspherical elements and two ultra-low dispersion glass elements to control a variety of aberrations for high sharpness and clarity. ASC and SWC coatings have been applied to it’s elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast and color accuracy.

Also included in this lens’ build is a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor that compliments its optical prowess by offering smooth, fast and near-silent autofocus performance, which is further benefitted by full-time manual focus operation and an internal focusing design. The lens is additionally dust and water-resistant with fluorine coatings at the front and rear to protect it against fingerprints and smudges and their effect on image quality.

This lens is made for use on full-frame Canon EF-mount DSLRs and can also work on APS-C-sized models to provide a 25.6-56mm equivalent focal length range. The constant f/2.8 maximum aperture offers consistent performance and excellent light transmission throughout the zoom range.
